Who We Are

Although CAWSD was founded by a group of Cuban-American women, we welcome women of all nationalities who can help us amplify our mission, and who seek to support and strengthen the values of democratic governance via a culture of activism, inclusion, collaboration and fairness.

CAWSD members have pledged their time, talents and expertise to strengthen these values. We are united in fighting MEDIA disinformation by communicating factual information to voters on issues and candidates that is honest and straightforward.

Our Mission

It is fundamentally one of civic activism that seeks to strengthen our democracy.

We believe in:

Free and Fair elections by facilitating citizen with right to vote.

Racial and Gender Equality.

Women’s freedom to decide over their bodies.

Freedom of Expression.

Sensible legislation to address gun violence, particularly access to weapons of war.

Measures to address climate crisis.

Bipartisan immigration reform.

Separation of Church and State.

To preserve ans strengthen our democracy,  that is government of the people, for the people and by the people, through civic activism and networking.

Activities

Participating in voter registration events.

Canvassing and handing out literature in various locations.

Engaging in social media interactions.

Participating on Hispanic television and radio stations.

Meeting with candidates and elected officials.

Providing volunteer opportunities with like-minded organizations.

Humanitarian help to Cuban citizens through non-governmental organizations.

Advocate for Public Schools and the well-being of every child.
